Capital Dynamics - Private Equity:
Our global direct co-investments team makes investments in mid-market companies alongside established lead investors and specialist sponsors who have a history of strong performance, relevant sector expertise, consistent strategy, and execution, and whose teams have shown that they can invest successfully through different economic cycles. The co-investment team invests in companies in North America, Europe, and the rest of the world, particularly in developed Asia. Companies sought have sustainable competitive positions, strong growth opportunities, and high ESG standards. While sector agnostic, preferred industries include consumer, healthcare, technology, and business services, and to some extent, industrial companies and those in the energy and power markets.

The Opportunity:
The Intern will work alongside the Capital Dynamics - European Direct Investments team to perform both quantitative and qualitative analysis to assess and determine investment opportunities in the European market. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in the full end-to-end investment process.
Candidate must be a German speaker to qualify for this position.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Gain a broad understanding of the private equity sector and the relevant value drivers.
- Screen direct investment opportunities in the European market.
- Perform valuation analysis using comparable company analysis and precedent transaction comparables.
- Work with the deal team to shadow and support live transactions where required.
- Support the preparation and review of financial statements.
- Leverage AI tools, including large language models (LLMs), to accelerate research, summarise documents, and support the preparation of materials.
The successful candidate will be:
- Intellectually curious, proactive, and self-motivated, eager to learn and take initiative.
- Commercially minded with a genuine desire to understand financial markets and investment management.
- Genuinely interested in private equity and the dynamics of secondary markets.
- Comfortable experimenting with new AI tools and technologies, and keen to apply them practically in your work.
- A clear and structured communicator - able to synthesise complex information into concise, well-presented outputs.
Skills, Education & Qualifications:
- Relevant experience and/or a keen interest in Private Equity transactions is advantageous, ideally from the following:
- Other Private Equity funds
- M&A or structured/leveraged finance teams of leading banks
- Transactions services team of a leading professional services firm
- Leading strategy consulting firms
- Understanding of financial statement analysis, valuation techniques, and competency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Broad quantitative, qualitative, and interpersonal skills; a strong team player.
- Can illustrate practical experience using AI tools such as large language models (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc), prompt engineering, or AI-assisted research workflows. Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs and apply them responsibly in a professional context.
- Awareness of how AI is shaping financial services and private asset management is highly desirable.

Education & Qualifications:
- Strong academic background - final year student, or recent graduate with a bachelor's degree or MBA at a recognised college/university in a relevant discipline (Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or similar).
Language Requirement:
- Must be fluent in both German and English and display superior verbal and written communication skills.
