About the Team
ACCEL Schools is seeking a highly-qualified Intervention Specialist at Riverside Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio, to foster a rigorous and nurturing classroom environment prioritising student learning and social-emotional development.
Riverside Academy, located near the Ohio River and Embshoff Woods Nature Preserve, serves Edgewood-Kettering (EK) to 8th-grade students since 2003. As a public charter school, it provides a college-prep education with a hands-on, socially-emotional learning approach. Renowned for its close-knit environment, the school cultivates strong community partnerships through dedicated staff.

About the Opportunity
The Intervention Specialist focuses on supporting the educational and behavioural goals of all students, with special emphasis on those with an Individualised Education Program (IEP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, interpreting student abilities and disabilities, while assisting in intervention strategies, curriculum modifications, and regular assignment support.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments and functional behavioural assessments.
- Develop, implement, and monitor behaviour improvement plans (BIPs).
- facilitate IEP meetings, drafting measurable goals and objectives.
- Ensure student achievement aligns with state and district benchmarks while fostering school culture.
- Integrate evidence-based practices and culturally responsive teaching across lessons and interactions.
- Serve as an academic advisor for assigned students.
- Maintain proactive communication with families regarding student progress.
- Participate in non-instructional events (e.g., field trips, school activities).
- Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements
- Valid Ohio state teaching license.
- Familiarity with State Standards and Common Core.
- Experience in inclusive classrooms (full-room inclusion) or co-teaching, preferably in a resource room setting.
- A strong ability to thrive in a growth-focused coaching environment, characterised by observation, feedback, and targeted action planning.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).
- Exceptional organisation and time management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Eligible for background checks (FBI/BCI).
- Experience in multicultural settings preferred.

Compensation The salary range is $48,000-$55,000, influenced by skills, education, experience, and location.
