About the Opportunity
The Intervention Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the educational and behavioral goals of students, with a particular focus on those with an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, interpreting student abilities and disabilities while assisting in:
- Developing classroom intervention strategies
- Modifying general education curricula as needed
- Supporting students with regular class assignments
- Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction
- Perform functional behavior assessments
- Write and implement behavior improvement plans
- Facilitate IEP meetings and develop IEP goals and objectives
- Drive student achievement, social-emotional growth, and adherence to state-specific academic standards
- Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction
- Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices into lesson delivery, student interactions, and communication with parents and colleagues
- Serve as student advisor/confidant for a designated group
- Maintain regular, strong communication with families regarding student progress (academic and social-emotional)
- Participate in non-instructional activities, including social events and field trips
- Perform additional tasks as required

About You: Qualifications & Requirements
Successful candidates must meet the following:
- Valid state license for working as an Intervention Specialist
- Proven knowledge of state standards and Common Core standards
- Experience in:
- A full-inclusion classroom model
- Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model
- Working in a growth-focused coaching environment, incorporating:
- Frequent observations
- Debrief sessions
- Action planning
- Progress monitoring
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Exceptional organization and time management
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
- Capacity to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI)
- Experience in multicultural settings (preferred)

- Salary range: $51,500–$55,000 (Adjustments may apply based on market rates, skills, education, and experience.)
