Intervention Worker
Intervention Worker – Approved Premises
Hestia, Criminal Justice Service (Highbury)
About Hestia
At Hestia, we’re driven by our core values—equity, diversity, and inclusion—to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. We’re currently looking for a passionate Intervention Worker to join our Criminal Justice Service, specifically in our Highbury Approved Premises.
Responsibilities
As an Intervention Worker at Hestia’s Highbury Approved Premises, your role will directly impact the lives of residents transitioning from prison back into the community. Expect a dynamic, varied schedule and responsibilities such as:
- Supporting high-risk individuals by preparing meals, enforcing structured routines, and fostering positive behavioural change.
- Collaborating with probation services, external agencies, and rehabilitation plans to help residents build independence and self-sufficiency.
- Guiding residents through curfew compliance, drug/alcohol testing, and adherence to Hestia’s policies and Ministry of Justice guidelines.
- Supervising and empowering residents to take responsibility for their own lives—without doing things for them—while delivering necessary support and supervision.
- Documenting daily activities, record-keeping, and safeguarding training compliance.
- Assisting in running leisure, gardening, and learning activities to promote pro-social behaviour.
- Maintaining the safety, security, and cleanliness of the premises through regular checks.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
