Job Opportunity: Radiographer / Specialist Radiographer
Location: York Hospital, York – Cardiology & Radiology Theatre Complex
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Radiographer/Specialist Radiographer for our newly opening Cardiology & Radiology Theatre Complex in York Hospital.
This role is ideal for:
- Experienced Interventional Radiographers (Band 6)
- New graduates or those transitioning into interventional radiology (Band 5 with competency-based training and promotion to Band 6 upon completion)
About the Service
A state-of-the-art facility will open, featuring 4 advanced GE Allia systems across Cardiology & Radiology Theatres. The team provides:
- Interventional cardiology (coronary angiography, PCI, IVUS, pacing)
- Vascular procedures (femoral angiography, EVAR, embolisation)
- Non-vascular interventions (nephrostomy, drainages, line insertion)

- Operate flexibly across Cardiology & Radiology Theatres, delivering high-quality imaging and support
- Assess, plan, and deliver interventional procedures for patients
- Collaborate with radiologists, cardiologists, vascular surgeons, and nursing teams
- Post-training, participate in the on-call rota (24/7 coverage, living within 60 mins of York)
- Support advanced practice, with opportunities to develop into roles like cannulation and informed consent
