Senior Medical Affairs Scientist – Interventional & Supported Studies

About the Role

Join GSK’s Medical Affairs team and contribute to a global organization driving scientific excellence, innovation, and patient-centered solutions. As a senior leader in the Medical Affairs – Interventional & Supported Studies function, you will design and execute clinical programs across oncology/hematology, shaping data generation strategies and fostering collaboration across internal and external teams.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Study Design & Oversight

  • Lead and design interventional clinical studies aligned with evidence generation plans and business strategy.
  • Provide scientific oversight for study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and interpretation of study data.
  • Ensure patient safety, ethical conduct, and regulatory compliance throughout the entire study lifecycle.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with clinical development, biostatistics, data science, and strategic communications to drive successful study execution.
  • Engage External Investigators, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and regulatory bodies to enhance program ambitions.

Knowledge Generation & Dissemination

  • Author, review, and present scientific data for peer-reviewed journals, regulatory submissions, and congress abstracts.
  • Curate presented findings into pragmatic recommendations for clinical practice.

What You’ll Bring

Core Qualifications

✔ An advanced degree in a relevant scientific field: MD, PhD, PharmD (or equivalent). ✔ Deep clinical expertise in oncology or preferably hematology (or pulmonology as a plus). ✔ Over a decade of experience in clinical research, especially interventional studies. ✔ Proven track record of designing legally robust, robust, and translational clinical programs. ✔ Regulatory and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) acumen compliant with FDA/EMA guidance. ✔ Leadership experience in matrixed teams, requiring strong stakeholder management skills. ✔ Excellent scientific, written, and oral communication in a structured, supportive environment.

Preferred Experience

🔹 Managing global or multi-country trial portfolios. 🔹 Collaborating with regulatory agencies on study design or submissions. 🔹 Leveraging digital tools and adaptive trial methodologies. 🔹 Knowledge of digital health technologies or real-world data applications.
