Faculty/Directorate
This role is situated within the Marketing & Communications Directorate, supporting the delivery and continuous development of the University’s internal digital communications and engagement platforms. The team collaborates across faculties and professional services to design high-quality, user-focused digital experiences that enhance staff communication, collaboration, and organisational effectiveness.
The Role
As the Intranet Project Delivery Coordinator, your key responsibilities will include:
- Taking ownership of the University’s newly launched staff intranet, built on Microsoft Modern SharePoint.
- Ensuring the platform evolves in line with organisational needs and user requirements.
- Focusing on user experience (UX) enhancement, increasing engagement and adoption, and aligning the intranet with institutional goals.
- Supporting governance, accessibility, content strategy, and sustainability to strengthen communication and collaboration across DMU.

Key Responsibilities
- Project Delivery & Coordination: Lead delivery of intranet initiatives in partnership with internal teams and external providers.
- User Experience & Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to refine the intranet experience and maximise adoption.
- Governance & Strategy: Participate in content governance, information architecture reviews, and accessibility compliance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Bridge the gap between strategy and execution with strong influencing skills across multiple organisational levels.
- Budget & Budget Management – Oversee accounting for project costs and ensuring return-on-investment.
- Change Management: Lead initiatives to foster user adoption and cultural shifts within a complex higher education environment.
Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive professional with:
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree-level education (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field.
- Proven track record in delivering or coordinating large-scale digital projects within higher education or a comparable sector.
- Deep expertise with intranet platforms, prioritising Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Content governance and information architecture.
- Web/accessibility compliance (e.g., WCAG standards).
- Stakeholder engagement & influencing skills with an ability to navigate complex organisational structures.
- Experience driving digital adoption, change management, and collaborative projects.
- Ability to manage suppliers, budgets, and project timelines effectively.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills with balanced strategic and hands-on delivery capabilities.

Desirable Qualifications
- Higher Education experience (preferably within a university intranet role).
- Project management certifications, such as:
- PRINCE2.
- APM (Association for Project Management).
- Agile methodologies.
