Inventory Operator

Location: Mercia Park Unit 6 (DE12) Hours: Full Time, Mon-Fri – Shifts: 6am–2pm or 2pm–10pm
DSV is building the world’s leading logistics and transport network. With rapid growth comes opportunity—we’re seeking 2 Inventory Operators to join our team and support customer-focused operations.
About the Role
The Inventory Operator will ensure efficient warehouse processes while improving inventory accuracy and operational workflows. These full-time roles will:
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly inventory checks to validate stock accuracy.
- Optimise warehouse operations, identifying and implementing improvements in systems, processes, and stock layouts to boost operational efficiency.
- Actively work on the warehouse floor, gaining practical understanding of operational processes.
- Manage locked inventory and ensure compliance with system requirements.
- Address and resolve auto-generated stock discrepancies through thorough investigations.
- Monitor and adjust replenishment processes, including pick-face effectiveness.
- Conduct empty location checks and coordinate periodic inventory (PI) counts.
- Investigate and resolve customer queries or inventory adjustments before action.
- Perform spot checks on picking and goods-in activities.
- Assist with quality checks (QC) and Value-Added Services (VAS) work.
- Identify and escalate/unidentified inventory, confirming readiness for stock.
- Ensure stock is stored in correct inventory zones.
- Process customer returns efficiently.
- Support reporting and data analysis tasks.
- Recommend and implement process/systems improvements.
- Deliver refresher training on operational systems to warehouse staff.

Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should:
- Be capable of analysing and interpreting data.
- Communicate clearly—both orally and in writing—with colleagues and clients.
- Manage a busy workload, prioritising tasks to meet strict deadlines.
- Adapt quickly to a fast-paced environment and changing priorities.
- Have strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Experience in **Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)$$ such as CargoWrite or Red Prairie, or the ability to achieve Basic Plus level with training.
- (Desirable) MSCE experience with RT, HLOP, or VNA pallet handling equipment.
