About the Role
We are seeking an Inventory Planning Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting one of Bauer Media Outdoor’s largest and most strategic construction programmes in Essex. Reporting to the National Inventory Manager, your responsibilities will include ensuring smooth planning, ordering, storage, and distribution of materials across the project while implementing best-in-class inventory and stock control processes.
In collaboration with Construction, Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain, you’ll act as the subject matter expert for inventory management, guaranteeing materials are available at the right time, place, and cost while driving improvements in stock accuracy, visibility, and efficiency.
Success will be measured by:
- Inventory performance (accuracy, efficiency, KPIs)
- Stock availability
- Process improvements
- On-time delivery of project milestones
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Operations
- Review and assess current inventory planning and stock management processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency, accuracy, and operational improvements.
- Implement standardised inventory planning, replenishment, and stock control processes aligned with construction timelines and requirements.
- Work closely with Construction, Procurement, Logistics, and Supply Chain teams to ensure material availability for project delivery.
- Review site surveys and project requirements to determine material demand, storage capacities, and inventory needs.

Strategic & Strategic Replenishment
- Develop proactive replenishment strategies to minimise stock shortages, project delays, and excess inventory.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all inventory-related matters across the Essex construction programme.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to integrate inventory considerations into planning and execution.
Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination
- Oversee the movement of materials between suppliers, warehouses, construction sites, and subcontractors.
- Maintain stock visibility and accuracy across all locations with stringent controls and reporting.
- Monitor inventory KPIs and performance metrics, delivering regular reports and cost-saving recommendations.
- Use data analysis and optimisation to support continuous improvement.
Requirements & Skills
Essential
- Proven experience in inventory planning, stock control, supply chain, or materials management, ideally within construction, infrastructure, engineering, utilities, or related specialisms.
- In-depth knowledge of inventory management principles, including replenishment planning and stock control.
- Familiarity with ERP/SAP/MRP or similar inventory management systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data for decision-making.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to process improvements.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accurate records and reporting.
- Confident communicator capable of collaborating across teams and stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Self-organised, able to multitask and prioritise multiple responsibilities effectively.

Desirable
- Experience supporting large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of construction materials procurement and supply chain logistics.
