Investment Accountant
Accountant – Private Investment Business (Property & Lending Focus)
About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced accountant to join our expanding private investment business, offering a varied and challenging role that spans investment operations, finance, and business administration. As a key member of senior management, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving financial accuracy and operational efficiency while gaining broad exposure across property investments, lending finance, and company administration.
Key Responsibilities

Front-Office Support
- Review and assess new real estate investment and lending opportunities to inform decision-making.
- Contribute insights into financial viability and risk assessment for potential deals.

Investor & Borrower Compliance
- Lead Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks for new investors and borrowers.
- Oversee the onboarding process for private investors, ensuring adherence to regulatory and internal policies.

Finance & Administrative Support
- Collaborate with the Finance Director in managing:
- Payroll processing
- Payroll runs and financial disbursements
- Management accounts and monthly reporting
- Annual financial statements and year-end accounts
- Tax compliance (filing, reporting, and fulfillment deadlines)
- Maintain and administer general company records and governance.

Performance & Risk Monitoring
- Track and report on critical performance metrics across the investment portfolio and loan book.
- Evaluate financial health and risk exposure of property-backed assets.

Loan Operations Support
- Assist with the administration and oversight of bridging loans, property-backed lending, and facility management.
- Ensure timely documentation, security verification, and investor communications.

Process Development
- Drive continuous improvement in internal controls, financial reporting standards, and operational procedures, enhancing efficiency and mitigating risks.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a graduated chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA, or equivalent qualification) with:
- Sector-Relevant Experience:
- Exposure to real estate, property development, or financial services, ideally within lending environments.
- Hands-on experience in property lending, bridging finance, loan portfolio management, or investment operations (higherly desirable).

Technical Skills:
- Strong ability to prepare year-end accounts, including statutory audits and tax filings.
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., AR/XR systems, ERP tools) and spreadsheets to create forecasts and analytical reports.

Soft Skills & Professional Attributes:
- Sharp analytical and organisational skills with an unwavering attention to detail to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Proactivity and adaptability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities.
- Ex discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive data and investor relationships.
