Fixed Income Client Communication & Product Support Specialist
Location: London, United Kingdom Employment Type: Full-time Contract (Fixed Term) Platform: Wealth Management Hours: 35 per week Salary: Salaried
About the Role
A key member of the Fixed Income desk, this role is dedicated to Client Communication and Product Support, bridging the gap between investment specialists and institutional clients. You’ll be the trusted intermediary, providing cutting-edge insights, preparing compelling client-facing materials, and ensuring seamless coordination across functions to deliver exceptional service and value-added investment outcomes.
This role sits within the Client & Distribution group, requiring you to convey sophisticated financial information in ways that resonate across diverse client tiers—from sophisticated professionals to senior executives engaged in high-level strategy or due diligence. Your ability to distil complex analysis into actionable insights separates you from peers.
Key Responsibilities
Client Communication & Product Support
- Support responses to client queries on portfolio positioning, performance attribution, and macroeconomic/market outlooks, ensuring factual accuracy and tailored advice.
- Develop client-facing materials including:
- Pitch books and customised marketing presentations
- Investment update notes and storytelling narratives for diverse audiences
- Prepare materials for investor meetings and due diligence processes, ensuring responsiveness and justifiable positions.
- Collaborate with underwriters and traders to deliver precise, real-time responses to sophisticated client questions.
Content Creation & Written Communications
- Prepare monthly fund commentaries and investment narratives, translating complex quantitative insights for non-expert audiences.
- Support marketing teams in creating case studies, thought leadership content, and tailored product documentation, ensuring measurable investor interest.
- Draft client correspondence and specialised investment reports under guidance, maintaining consistency with firm messaging.

Wider Team Support
- Maintain and update portfolio and performance dashboards for internal team use.
- Assist in ESG activities, including engagement follow-ups, sounds-of-the-market case studies, and integrating ESG considerations into client communications and reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Operations
- Act as the primary point of contact for client teams managing requests, deliverables, and meeting logistics.
- Coordinate with Risk, Performance, RFP (Request for Proposal), and Data teams to ensure:
- Timely and accurate reporting
- Seamless data flow
- Continuous process improvement
- Work with IT and data stakeholders to optimise systems for efficiency across client-facing processes.
Candidate Criteria
Required Qualifications
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a deep familiarity of fixed income markets and underlying principles (duration, yield to maturity, yield spreads, etc.).
- Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, paired with the ability to articulate complex concepts across technical levels:
- Senior executives
- Institutional investors
- Investor relations professionals
- Undivided attention to detail, with a record of avoiding errors in high-pressure environments.
- Collaborator-extraordinaire: effectively integrates into teams, balances autonomy with accountability, and invites diverse perspectives in problem-solving.
- Proactive mindset: anticipates challenges, adapts to shifting demands, and consistently owns through executing to deliverables.
- Professional discretion: maintains confidentiality under strict regulatory standards.
- A passion for financial markets coupled with a desire to specialise in front office roles, ideally with growth aspirations.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in:
- Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, advanced formulas)
- PowerPoint (professional presentations and investor decks)
- Data visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI, QlikView)
- Familiarity with:
- Python code or analytical automation (bonus for scripting relevant datasets)
- Basic knowledge of Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar client-facing platforms
- Office 365 suite, such as Teams/SharePoint

Preferred Experience & Special Considerations
- CFA Level I certification (or plans to complete it)
- Familiarity with the institutional asset management landscape, including concepts like:
- Risk-adjusted return mandates
- Client investment objectives and risk tolerance
- Hands-on experience crafting presentation materials for clients or senior executive engagement.
- Track record in streamlining repetitive reporting data (manual analysis, wirecoding, or scripting), enhancing workflow efficiency.
