A leading event driven hedge fund is seeking a Junior Investment Analyst to join its investment team
The role offers exposure across a range of event-driven and fundamental investment strategies, including Merger Arbitrage, Equity Long/Short and Credit. Working closely with senior investors, the successful candidate will play an active role in idea generation, research, financial analysis and portfolio monitoring across global markets.
With approximately $1.5 billion of assets under management and a growing international footprint, the firm offers a highly entrepreneurial environment where analysts can develop broad investment expertise and benefit from significant long-term career and earnings potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental company, industry and transaction-related research across a variety of event-driven and special situations opportunities
- Support investment teams covering Merger Arbitrage, Equity Long/Short and Credit strategies
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to assess investment opportunities and risk/reward profiles
- Monitor portfolio positions, corporate events, earnings releases, M&A activity and market developments
- Analyse merger transactions, regulatory developments and event-driven catalysts impacting investments
- Prepare investment memoranda, research reports and presentations for senior investment professionals
- Assist with portfolio construction, risk monitoring and performance attribution analysis
- Participate in investment discussions and contribute to idea generation across the platform
- Work closely with senior team members on both existing positions and new investment opportunities

Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience within a leading Investment Banking M&A or equivalent advisory team, and/or 1–2 years of relevant buy-side investing experience
- Strong preference for candidates with broad corporate and equity analytical experience
- Demonstrated interest in public markets, event-driven investing and special situations
- Advanced financial modelling, valuation and analytical skills
- Strong understanding of M&A transactions and corporate finance concepts
- Excellent academic credentials and a consistent record of high achievement
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Intellectual curiosity, commercial judgement and a desire to develop as a fundamental investor
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-oriented investment environment
