About TL Marchmont Partners and the Internship

As an Investment Analyst Intern at TL Marchmont Partners, you'll be embedded in our deal team from day one, supporting both our private equity and investment banking divisions across every stage of the investment cycle from uncovering and assessing new opportunities to helping our portfolio companies scale and realise their potential.

You'll work closely with our partners, taking on real responsibility and earning the kind of front-line exposure that's hard to come by at larger, more siloed firms. It's a role built for someone who thrives in the detail of a valuation model but is equally at home walking a site, meeting a management team, and getting to grips with how a business actually runs.

What You'll Do

Investment Banking

  • Financial modelling: build and maintain valuation models including DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, and LBO models.
  • Pitch and deal materials: assist in preparing pitchbooks, information memoranda, management presentations, and client-ready decks.
  • Market and industry research: gather and synthesise data on companies, sectors, and market trends to support origination and live mandates.
  • Transaction support: help coordinate due diligence, track deal workstreams, and manage data rooms across M&A and capital-raising processes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Private Equity

  • Deal screening: review and evaluate potential investment opportunities against fund criteria and prepare initial screening memos.
  • Due diligence: support commercial, financial, and operational diligence on target companies, including data analysis and market sizing.
  • Investment analysis: contribute to returns modelling, scenario analysis, and the drafting of investment committee papers.
  • Portfolio monitoring: assist in tracking the performance of existing portfolio companies and preparing periodic updates.

Across Both Divisions

  • Produce clean, well-structured analysis and presentation materials to a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage multiple workstreams under time pressure while maintaining discretion with confidential information.
  • Participate in team meetings, learning sessions, and networking events throughout the internship.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and synthesise insights into clear recommendations.
  • Foundational knowledge of finance and valuation, including familiarity with financial models, cash flow analysis, and common investment metrics.
  • Understanding of due diligence processes, with the ability to support reviews of commercial, financial, and operational information. You need to bring a business owner mindset; not just from a structuring perspective.
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint including utilising AI tools with comfort handling datasets and building structured presentations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small team environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Enrollment in or close to completion of a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, accounting, or a related field; prior internship or project experience in investment, consulting, or corporate finance is an advantage.
