We're working with a leading renewable energy business to recruit an Investment Analyst to join its growing Finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on the financing and commercial delivery of utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) projects, gaining hands-on exposure to project finance, M&A and investment activities within one of the UK's fastest-growing sectors.
Reporting to the Investment Manager, you'll support the development, maintenance and optimisation of complex financial models while working closely with senior stakeholders, lenders and advisors on live renewable energy projects.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining financial models for utility-scale solar and BESS projects
- Running equity and lender case scenarios
- Supporting project finance debt sizing and optimisation
- Undertaking valuation, sensitivity and detailed cashflow analysis
- Reviewing and challenging financial assumptions to ensure robust investment decisions
- Supporting acquisitions, investment appraisals, tenders and financial close activities
- Preparing financial analysis and investment papers for senior stakeholders
- Supporting commercial negotiations through financial insight
- Assisting with debt compliance and ongoing portfolio reporting

About You
We're looking for someone with experience in financial modelling gained within:
- Project Finance
- Corporate Finance
- Transaction Advisory
- Infrastructure Finance
- Investment Banking
You'll also bring:
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
- Strong understanding of financial statements and cashflow modelling
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability
- Strong commercial awareness
- High attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable
- Experience within renewable energy, infrastructure or energy markets
- Exposure to solar PV and/or battery energy storage projects
- VBA experience
- ACA, CFA or equivalent financial qualification
