The Investment Analyst
The Investment Analyst supports the CIO and wider Investment Team, providing analytical, operational and reporting support across a broad range of investment activities. Working closely with finance, treasury, risk, legal and other business functions, the Investment Analyst plays a key role in ensuring accurate investment data, regulatory compliance and effective investment governance, while developing expertise in financial markets, insurance investing and investment systems.
Experience
- Desire to pursue a career in Insurance Investing
- Minimum 2-years’ experience of working in a finance or investment function
- Strong analytical background
- Commercial knowledge of insurance investing
- Regulatory knowledge
- Advanced Excel, Insurance Accounting System (e.g. Clearwater), Bloomberg (desirable)
- Studying or intending to study towards an appropriate qualification (e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst)
- Be a strong user of MS Office, and have a keen interest in developing AI solutions

Supporting the CIO and Broader Investment Team
- Working in a 10 person investment team in a global insurance company
- Strong growth potential for the role over time as the team develops
- Working closely with the team as a generalist on various topics/projects
- Build reporting packs for the team and for various boards and committees
- Assisting in monthly P&L Analysis & financial budgeting
- Build strong working knowledge of custody portals and trade settlements
- Building and maintaining Investment dashboards in Aladdin, Clearwater, Bloomberg
- Ensuring systems accurately reflect investment data on compliance monitoring
- Maintaining a dashboard to monitor compliance with Collateral requirements
- Role is predominantly office based. Possibility for flexible working for up to two days a week following probation period

Investment Manager Relationships
- Assist the Team in managing relationships with external investment managers
- Assist with review & implementation of new managers, IMAs, fund documentation and KYC
- Assist with monitoring and reporting of manager performance. Prepare materials for Quarterly Reviews, board packs. Coordinate manager meetings and calls.
Interaction with other group functions
- Liaising with finance and treasury on all investment related matters
- Assist treasury with cash management/liquidity needs
- Assist other functions (e.g. risk, internal audit, legal) on investment related matters
