Secondary Market Investment Analysis – Associate

The Role: Investment Analysis Associate

Overview

As part of their lean London team, this role provides direct involvement in the full deal lifecycle, with a core emphasis on:

  • In-depth quantitative and qualitative portfolio company/fund analysis
  • Original structuring of the investment thesis, backed by original market research and diligence

Responsibilities

Deal Analysis & Research

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative evaluations of prospective investments, covering:

    • Asset valuations
    • Portfolio company fundamentals
    • Fund-performance indications
  • Conduct in-depth market and sector analysis, including magazine-style reports and competitive benchmarking

Due Diligence & Committee Reporting

  • Lead preparation of detailed due-diligence packs and associated reports
  • Draft reports and presentations for investment committees

Post-Investment Management

  • Establish individual and portfolio forecasts, tracking financial performance
  • Produce up-to-date commentary on portfolio trends and insights
  • Identify future relationship and deal flow opportunities based on post-acquisition results

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Competencies

  • Advanced financial modelling skills specific to M&A transactions
  • Technical acumen in quantitative analysis and detail-oriented research

Industry Knowledge

  • Demonstrable familiarity with the private equity secondaries space
  • Clear appreciation for evolving trends within this evolving asset class

Attributes & Passions

  • Passionate about financial markets and deep-dive analysis
  • Intrinsic motivation to grow expertise in asset securitisation and secondary buyouts
  • Fast learner—eagerness to grow in an expanding field

Note: Familiarity with magnet-focused portfolio analysis would also be an asset.
