Investment Associate - Generalist PE Fund
About the Role
A leading UK mid-cap private equity fund is seeking to expand their team by hiring an Investment Associate.
The fund, now well-established with a proven track record, has successfully invested in diverse sectors across thriving, well-managed businesses.
As a generalist investor, they focus on identifying and backing companies that demonstrate operational excellence and performance potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Core contributor to the investment team, participating throughout the entire deal pipeline
- Origination of new investment opportunities
- Commercial & financial due diligence, including building financial models to assess target companies
- Deal execution:
- Deal structuring
- Negotiation of financial and legal terms
- Overseeing external advisors (lawyers, accountants, etc.)
- Ongoing portfolio management, ensuring post-investment value creation

Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated professional with experience from one of the following backgrounds:
- Investment professionals from private equity funds, including:
- Buyouts, venture capital, or growth equity
- Mid-market or core private equity maisons
- Associate roles from investment banks (e.g., Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan) or elite financial boutiques (e.g., Greenhill, Lazard)
- Strategy consultants from prestigious firms such as McKinsey & Company or Bain & Company
- Uncompromising focus on UK markets, with relevant dealmaking experience
