Microsoft Security Engineer (Sentinel & XDR)
Location: London
Type: Permanent
We are seeking a hands-on Microsoft Security Engineer with strong experience in Sentinel SIEM automation and Microsoft Defender XDR implementation. The role requires a well-rounded engineer who can deliver security projects end-to-end while supporting BAU operations across a complex enterprise environment.
Responsibilities
- Engineer and optimise Microsoft Sentinel including log onboarding, data connectors, DCR filtering, KQL analytics, workbooks and dashboards.
- Build and maintain SOAR automation using Azure Logic Apps, Function Apps and API integrations.
- Implement and tune Microsoft Defender XDR including MDE, MDI, MDO, MCAS and Defender for Cloud.
- Deliver Microsoft security engineering projects from design through deployment.
- Support BAU security operations including tuning, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
- Develop automation using PowerShell and Python to streamline detection and response workflows.
- Strengthen detection coverage and response maturity across Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.

- Proven hands-on Sentinel SIEM engineering experience (not SOC-only).
- Practical experience building Logic Apps automation and SOAR playbooks.
- Strong Defender XDR deployment and tuning background.
- Solid understanding of Azure security, identity, Conditional Access and Zero Trust.
- PowerShell/Python scripting for automation and integration.
- Experience delivering security engineering projects in enterprise environments.
