Investment Banking Healthcare Analyst – EMEA Team (J.P. Morgan)
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly motivated to work in a dynamic team and to contribute to our Investment Banking business.
J.P. Morgan’s Investment Banking Healthcare Coverage Group provides a full range of investment banking services to numerous clients across the EMEA region. Our clients include many of the world’s leading firms in their respective industries. The Group’s primary focus is on delivering creative solutions for:
- Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A)
- Equity capital raising
- Debt capital raising
As an Analyst in the Investment Banking EMEA Healthcare team, you will be a key player in shaping our business strategy and execution. Your role will involve the "full cycle" of transactional execution, including:
- Preparing marketing pitches
- Reviewing and formulating financial models and analysis
- Preparing and presenting internal committee memoranda and client presentations
- Playing a leadership role in execution functions, including working with analysts and associates
- Collaborating closely with senior bankers
- Partnering with other bankers from the group and colleagues across EMEA and globally

Job Responsibilities
- Project coordination, including:
- Client communication
- Advisory team coordination (externally and within the bank)
- Develop strategic content for M&A and/or capital market transactions discussions with clients
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, including:
- Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) valuation
- Trading comparables
- Transaction comparables
- Leveraged Buyout (LBO) analysis
- Transaction structuring
- Prepare:
- Presentation books
- Management presentations
- Board materials
- Memoranda, and other presentation materials for use in:
- Corporate finance transactions
- Strategic client dialogue
- Actively manage daily deal execution and project management, with leadership roles in:
- Supporting client coverage
- Maintaining regular dialogue with clients and potential clients
- Daily interaction with:
- Senior team members
- Client management teams (to discuss strategic alternatives)
- Collaborate with:
- J.P. Morgan’s product teams
- Global sector teams
- UK equities and research departments

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Prior investment banking experience, preferably in a Healthcare coverage role
- Proficient financial modelling and valuation skills, including:
- Analytical and numerical expertise
- Ability to:
- React well under pressure
- Effectively multitask across multiple projects
- Operate comfortably in fast-paced environments
- Strong customer-facing skills, with:
- Ability to engage professionally and maturely with clients
- High attention to detail, with:
- Proactive problem-solving
- Excellent time management
- Anecdotal proof of:
- Working effectively in inclusive team environments
- Exceptionally organised, with:
- Detail orientation
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including:
- Ability to express concepts concisely
