Analyst – UK Natural Resources (Energy, Power & Utilities, Renewables & Mining) – Investment Banking
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is highly motivated to work in a dynamic team and contribute to J.P. Morgan’s Investment Banking business, specifically within the UK Natural Resources team.
The team advises corporates within the Energy, Power & Utilities, Renewables, and Mining sectors, supporting operations both in the UK and internationally. Services provided include:
- Advising on local and cross-border disposals, M&A transactions
- Strategic guidance on corporate strategy, capital structure, and liability management
- Financial advisory for equity, hybrid, and debt issuance
- Corporate broking services involving engagement with equity research, equity sales, and senior clients
As an Analyst in this team, you will be a key contributor to shaping and executing investment banking mandates across all major product areas. Your responsibilities will span the entire transaction lifecycle, including:
- Preparing marketing pitches
- Conducting and presenting financial analyses
- Drafting internal committee memoranda and client presentations
You will operate at the core of a global investment bank, receiving:

Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Deal Execution
- Participate in substantial and ongoing client interaction & servicing
- Build and manage long-term client relationships & accounts
- Contribute to deal pitches and client engagements
Financial & Transactional Work
- Produce valuation materials for M&A, Equity Capital Markets (ECM), and Debt Capital Markets (DCM) transactions
- Execute full-cycle client transactions, from origination to close
- Collaborate with J.P. Morgan’s product teams
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Prior experience in Investment Banking or transactions (highly desirable)
- Exceptional financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills
Technical Proficiencies
- Exceptional Excel, PowerPoint, and business software proficiency
- Quick learner with ability to master new tools
Soft Skills & Attributes
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
- Energetic, decisive, and possessed of strong integrity
- Motivated, adaptable, and multitasker with independent project management capabilities
- Outstanding written and verbal communication to concisely articulate concepts and defend analyses
