Vice President – Investment Implementation

Location: Oak Pensions Asset Management

As an Investment Implementation VP within Oak Pensions Asset Management, you will oversee the effective implementation and execution of the investment strategy across portfolios, providing ongoing operational support, oversight, and operational risk management/mitigation. The role involves delivering investment implementation activities, onboarding external investment managers, developing and maintaining investment infrastructure, and managing operational risks.


Key Responsibilities

Implementation of Investment Strategy

  • Lead investment implementation activities across internal and external stakeholders, including managers, custodians, and advisers
  • Manage operational and legal due diligence for investment changes, including reallocations, IMAs, and custody arrangements
  • Oversee contractual and markets documentation, onboarding, cash/liquidity management, and FX processes
  • Maintain expertise in multi-asset class investment strategy and its operational implications

Portfolio Management – Operational Support & Oversight

  • Utilise Aladdin and related systems for portfolio implementation, transaction lifecycle oversight, and data integrity
  • Support data, controls, onboarding processes, and ensure accuracy in reporting/decision-making systems
  • Oversee private assets and derivatives, transaction execution, and cash management
  • Contribute to supplier oversight, operational due diligence, and stakeholder management for service quality and issue resolution

Operational Risk Management & Mitigation

  • Ensure alignment with governance standards, controls, documentation, and audit trails
  • Identify risk mitigation initiatives and process improvements, including AI tools
  • Oversee operational readiness for new investment products and system capabilities

Strategic Change Manageemnt & Project Leadership

  • Oversee management of change projects that drive strategic objectives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Develop project plans outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource allocation
  • Lead stakeholder communication regarding project progress and expectations
  • Manage project teams, budgets, risks, and reporting to ensure on-time, within-budget delivery
  • Execute training and facilitate embedding of changes within the organisation

Experience & Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in Investment Banking, Asset Management, Consulting, Operations, or Risk/Control functions
  • Hands-on experience with front-office portfolio management systems (e.g., Aladdin, CRM platforms)
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organisational, and leadership skills

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of investment operations, global custodians, and SWIFT
  • Experience with pension fund investment operations or transition management
  • Project/change management expertise

Regulatory Compliance

This role is classified under PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority regulations, requiring:

  • Certified role
  • Mandatory regulatory qualifications or relevantminimum qualifications to meet company benchmarks
