Role Description

Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s Global Investment Grade team is looking to add a Research Analyst performing at the junior Vice President level responsible for analyzing company credit risk and making relative value selections on names in the new issue and secondary markets, within the Non-Financial sectors. The ideal candidate should be well versed in evaluating investment-grade corporate credits and making investment decisions. The role will be reporting to Managing Director & Head, Investment Grade Research & Portfolio Manager, Broad Markets Fixed Income.

Responsibilities

Perform financial and credit analysis of names within Non-Financial coverage sectors Develop relative value opinions and trade ideas on credits and individual debt securities Prepare financial forecasts, comparable company analyses and valuation models Write and defend credit investment recommendations Monitor market developments and quarterly financial performance of names to determine credit pricing impact Work with portfolio management and trading to recommend portfolio position sizing Assist in gathering and analyzing industry and macro data to identify trends and help develop broad views of corporate credit and sector allocation Extensive usage of Excel, Bloomberg, Capital IQ and other technology applications

Requirements

Well-developed fundamental and relative value skills with experience within the Non-Financial coverage sectors at the junior Vice President level Strong knowledge of credit analysis, financial accounting, complex capital structures and basic bond portfolio management Strong Excel skills, modeling, financial forecasting, effective writing and communication and facility with technology applications Proven academic and professional achievement Progress toward or completion of a CFA a plus
