Investment Manager

Delighted to be partnering with our Peterborough client to recruit an Investment Manager / Portfolio Manager to support the delivery of high-quality investment management services to private clients and professional introducers. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing, managing and supporting client portfolios in line with each client's investment objectives, risk profile, personal circumstances and agreed mandate. This is a client-focused investment role requiring strong technical knowledge, regulatory awareness, excellent communication skills and sound investment judgement.

The role may suit a developing investment professional who is keen to progress and take on greater responsibility, or an experienced Investment Manager capable of managing client relationships and portfolios independently.

We are looking for someone who is ambitious, hard-working and keen to develop within the business. The successful candidate should be proactive, commercially aware, willing to learn and comfortable using technology, systems and AI tools to improve efficiency, research, communication and client service.

Key Deliverables

  • Review and manage discretionary and managed advisory client portfolios in line with client objectives, risk appetite, investment mandates and prevailing market views.
  • Ensure portfolios remain aligned to agreed asset allocation, investment strategy and client suitability requirements.
  • Provide investment advice and portfolio recommendations where appropriate, taking account of the firm's views on markets, investments and asset allocation.
  • Support client reviews, portfolio reporting, investment proposals and ongoing client communications.
  • Identify changes in client circumstances and ensure portfolios and documentation are updated accordingly.
  • Ensure all client documentation is accurate, complete and maintained in line with internal procedures.
  • Operate in accordance with internal policies, regulatory obligations and conduct standards, including suitability, TCF / Consumer Duty, AML, complaints handling and client file requirements.
  • Liaise with front office colleagues, administration teams, compliance and wider business functions to ensure an efficient and professional client experience.
  • Support the development of existing client relationships through regular communication and high levels of service.
  • Help promote investment management services to private clients and professional introducers.
  • Attend and contribute to investment meetings or committees where required.
  • Support the maintenance of model portfolios, buy lists, investment strategies and platform-based portfolios where applicable.
  • Assist with investment research, market commentary, asset allocation work and preparation of investment material.
  • Use technology, internal systems and AI-enabled tools appropriately to improve productivity, research, analysis, reporting and client communication.
  • Complete all required CPD and maintain professional competence.
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects or additional duties as required by senior management.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
