We are seeking an Investment Manager for HSBC Ventures.

In this exciting role, you’ll join a corporate venture team that invests in emerging companies shaping the future of Financial Services. You’ll lead deals from origination to execution, then help portfolio companies scale through one of the world’s leading banks, bringing partnerships, distribution and strategic connectivity.

In this role, you will:

  • Source and build a pipeline of relevant investment opportunities, leveraging AI-enabled sourcing and sector deep-dives
  • Lead the evaluation of investment opportunities with detailed quantitative/qualitative analysis using AI tools, including AI-specific diligence where relevant
  • Oversee preparation of investment papers (leveraging AI tools) and manage internal stakeholders and approval processes
  • Lead execution, including term negotiation, legals, due diligence and approvals
  • Monitor portfolio company performance, run AI-enabled portfolio reviews, and support portfolio companies (connectivity inside HSBC, fundraisings, exits, internal/external support)

To be successful in this role you should have the following skills:

  • Venture capital / Growth equity investment experience, with strong understanding of how early-stage companies operate and scale
  • Strong knowledge of AI, fintech, enterprise software and data sectors and ability to translate technical findings into investment recommendations
  • Financial analysis toolkit knowledge: research, financial modelling, and company valuation experience; able to run sector deep-dives and use AI tools throughout
  • Comfortable with term negotiation, legal process management, diligence and investment committee-style approvals
  • Strong internal/external relationship building, ideally with an existing network of FinTech’s and relevant investors; excellent communication
