Falmouth Fairfax is delighted to be instructed by Dorrington to source an Investment Manager for the Living Sectors to join their growing team. The team is responsible for a significant portfolio of homes for rent, including traditional rented homes, fully serviced apartments and an expanding co-living offer. The properties are diverse spanning period mansion blocks to modern, purpose-built rental buildings, single houses, and an entire urban village.

The Role

Reporting directly to an Investment Director, this individual will develop their existing asset management skills across a diverse portfolio, with exposure to the full lifecycle in living sector investment. In an asset management focused position, responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in defining the asset management strategy for assets across the portfolio.
  • Responsible for delivering property level annual business plans to achieve gross rent roll, delivering within operating cost budgets and enhancing net income generation.
  • Providing client leadership to management partners, ensuring high levels of customer service and operational excellence.
  • Valuation and performance analysis of income and expenditure.
  • Executing asset management initiatives including refresh works, capex programmes, new lettings, rent reviews and resident engagement.
  • Providing analytical support to the Heads and Directors for underwriting investment proposals and potential new investment opportunities.

The Candidate

Dorrington are looking for a smart, curious and self-motivated candidate who is experienced in delivering excellent asset management, with the ideal candidate having the following:

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
  • 5 – 10 years in real estate (this will depend on how much of the experience to date is directly relevant to this position).
  • Demonstrable client-side living sector experience, ideally with exposure to value-add asset management on non-new build assets.
  • Ability to balance the big picture with attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
  • A clear sense of ownership, with the confidence to manage competing priorities independently.

This person will be part of a small, close-knit team that genuinely values collaboration and curiosity, providing real scope for career progression within a team that is growing and evolving.
