Investment Oversight Manager - FTC

THE ROLE
We are looking to hire an Investment Oversight Manager who will be responsible for leading the investment governance, risk management and reporting for the in-house investment team.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract, reporting into the Chief Investment Officer, and will be responsible for owning the end-to-end investment risk and governance framework for the Scheme. In particular it will provide oversight of investment strategy, managers, and risks, as well as delivering reporting to various stakeholders to support timely decision making.
This role will require close collaboration with our investment platform partner, asset managers, project, operational and compliance teams, as well as Scheme Strategist, Investment Sub-Committee and Trustee Board.
Responsibilities
Own the delivery and development of the investment governance and risk frameworks. Oversee our investment managers and providers, both on a day to day basis as well as undertaking regular in depth reviews and due diligence in line with the governance framework. Co-ordinate with the Scheme’s investment advisers on delivery of ongoing work and key projects. Support onboarding of new investment managers and providers, ensuring adherence to the mandates and objectives set. Oversee and deliver all investment reporting, including performance reporting, governance and risk reporting as well as ESG reporting (e.g. TCFD reporting and Stewardship Code reporting). Lead on the investment requirements for the upcoming Value for Money (VFM) framework. Ensure fee transparency across our various service providers and monitor investment costs. Present to various stakeholders, including our Investment Sub-Committee and Trustee Board, on investment governance and risk management on a regular basis. Drive innovation and continuous improvement on governance and risk oversight, including for new propositional initiatives (e.g. private markets). This includes improving data quality, automation and reporting efficiency, and enhancing our governance and risk framework as we grow. Who We Are Looking For
The skills, experience, and aptitudes we are looking for are listed below but please don’t be discouraged from applying if you don’t meet every single one of these criteria – having a ‘can do’ attitude is sometimes more important than being able to tick every box:
Must have knowledge of the UK DC investment market. Experience in investment governance and oversight, including of investment managers, required. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as stakeholder management required. Excellent presentation and analytical skills. A strong team player.
