Role Overview: London-Based Macro Analyst
The successful candidate will be based in London, contributing strategic macroeconomic insights to Rothschild & Co’s investment processes across Wealth Management.
Key Responsibilities
Core Macroeconomic & Strategic Inputs
- Support London and Swiss Wealth Management by delivering macro-economic, asset allocation, and sector analysis.
- Develop data-driven recommendations to inform investment decisions.

Presentation & Publications
- Produce presentation materials for internal team meetings and external client discussions.
- Contribute to written publications, including blog posts, Market Perspective, Mosaique Insights, and marketing collateral.
Monthly & Quarterly Commentary
- Primary responsibility for producing monthly and quarterly macro commentary reflecting the ‘house view’ on global economic trends.
Japanese Wealth Management Support
- Swiss discretionary asset allocation committee updates:
- Provide macro, regional, and sectoral bulletins.
- Collaborate on Strategy Team’s portfolio commentary.
- Swiss portfolio advisory contributions:
- Deliver ad hoc thematic insights to enhance advisory services.
- Proactively shape asset allocation strategies and prospective return models.
Operational & Analytical Support
- Step in as deputy to senior team members when necessary.
- Maintain and refine quantitative models and research frameworks using coding, economic analysis, and financial tools.
Professional Development
- Enhance expertise through conferences, sector research, and continuous learning.
- Contribute to internal Rothschild committees and Global Advisory initiatives via tailored Economic Briefings and presentations.
Experience & Requirements
Education & Qualifications
- Degree in Economics (or related financial discipline).
- Strong academic foundation in ** macroeconomics, quantitative methods, or financial markets**.

Technical & Analytical Skills
- Highly numerate, financially literate, and finance-savvy.
- Developments in economics/finance current affairs: demonstrated through personal research or professional experience.
- Programming proficiency: Effective in Python and problem-solving with quantitative tools.
- Bloomberg/Refinitiv or DataStream familiarity highly valuable.
- Stellar MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for complex data management and visualisation.
Experience Requirements
- 2–4 years’ experience as an economist, macro analyst, or financial markets analyst in financial services.
- Experience with diverse asset classes, ideally exposure to foreign exchange (FX) markets.
- Ability to synthesise complex data into clear insights for diverse stakeholders (e.g., portfolio managers, advisory teams).

- Documentation & curation skills: Strong editingcapacity, delivering polished, engaging content for both specialists and lay audiences.
- Resilience & adaptability: Shifts in financial markets, economic conditions, or geopolitical environments require agility and pragmatism.
Note: Successful liaison with London and Swiss Wealth Management teams is critical for fostering cohesive and impactful recommendations.
