Based in London with activities extending beyond, Physical I/O grows its ecosystem through talks, demos, workshops, founder stories, and meaningful conversations. Role Description
The Investor role is a full-time, on-site position based in the London Area, United Kingdom. The Investor will actively source and evaluate early-stage opportunities across Physical AI, robotics, wearables, spatial computing, and intelligent hardware, engaging with founders and builders within the Physical I/O community. The role also involves:
- Building and maintaining a strong network of industry partners, co-investors, and technical experts
- Contributing to the community’s thought leadership through participation in talks and discussions
- Collaborating closely with the core team to refine investment theses and help shape the direction of the ecosystem
Qualifications
- Strong background in investing, venture capital, private equity, or early-stage technology finance, with experience evaluating hardware, AI, or deep tech ventures.
- Solid understanding of emerging technologies, including AI, robotics, wearables, spatial computing, and human-computer interaction, and their market potential.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous financial, technical, and market due diligence, including analyzing business models, competitive landscapes, and unit economics.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with experience engaging founders, technical teams, and co-investors in a collaborative, community-driven environment.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with a structured approach to developing investment theses and portfolio strategies.
- Comfort working on-site in the London Area and participating regularly in community events, demos, workshops, and in-person meetings.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, business, engineering, computer science, or a related field; equivalent practical experience is also valued.
- Prior involvement in startup ecosystems, accelerators, or innovation communities is beneficial, along with a genuine interest in building the future of physical computing.
