Role Description
We are developing a next-generation, AI-native investment reporting platform to support our legal finance business.
Previously, we built an in-house loan servicing platform using Supabase and Python and maintain our accounts on Xero.
Now, we are constructing the next layer of our platform: a sophisticated investor reporting system that transforms operational and financial data into high-quality portfolio, fund, and investor reporting.
This is not a traditional reporting or business intelligence role. Instead, you will be responsible for designing and building an intelligent reporting platform capable of:
- Automating complex financial calculations.
- Consolidating data from multiple sources (Supabase, Xero, and Excel).
- Producing investor-grade reports with minimal manual intervention.
- Direct collaboration with senior stakeholders, influencing architecture, technology choices, and platform growth.
What You Will Build
Develop a modern reporting platform with the following capabilities:
- Data Integration
- Seamless integration with an AI-powered loan servicing platform (Supabase/Python).
- Accounting data syncing via Xero.
- Existing Model Utilization
- Incorporate current financial models and Excel-based calculations where suitable.
- ** Reiterative Reporting**
- Portfolio-, fund-, and investor-level calculations.
- Automated investor reports.
- Legal entity financial reporting.
- Management and board reporting.
- Valuation and performance reports.
- Regulatory and Compliance Support
- Efficiently enable future reporting requirements.
- AI-Enhanced Automation
- Data validation, reconciliation, commentary generation, and report production.

Core Objective: Establish a automated, data-driven system, easily transforming raw source data into detailed, clean, and easily digestible reports aimed at investors, management, and regulators.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Construction & Collaboration
- Design and develop the investor reporting platform, leveraging either Supabase/Python or Xero-linked tools such as Syft.
- Automate data workflows between operational systems, accounting systems, and reporting outputs.
- Calculation & Accountancy
- Construct portfolio- and investor-level calculation engines.
- Develop valuation and performance reporting methodologies.
- Automate data validation and reconciliation processes.
- Technology & Governance
- Design reporting data models.
- Use AI tools to extract insights/organise data for informed decision-making.
- Dashboard Development
- Build interactive dashboard systems.
- Engineer automated reporting workflows.
- Output Production
- Ensure professional investor reports for institutional clients.
- Continuously optimize reporting systems by reducing manual processes.
- Collaboration & Innovation
- Work cohesively with finance, legal, investment, and operations teams.
Requirements and Expectations

- Technical Capabilities
- Finance Knowledge: Comfort with financial data, complex calculations, and technical financial modeling.
- Software Development: Develop automated reporting systems at scale.
- Data Integration: Manage relationships between operational systems, data sources.
- AI Proficiency: Leverage AI for development acceleration, efficiency gains, and data automation.

- Use AI to support data anomaly detection, self-healing reconciliation processes, and interpret explanations.
- Establish an investor portal with real-time/accessible historical reports.
