About the job you are considering:
We are seeking a highly skilled iOS Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-performance iOS applications using modern Apple technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Swift, SwiftUI, and GitLab, along with a solid understanding of iOS architecture, application lifecycle, and best development practices.
Hybrid working:
The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.
Your role:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, QA Engineers, and Backend Developers to deliver high-quality mobile solutions.
- Participate in technical discussions, solution design, architecture reviews, and technology selection.
- Develop clean, modular, reusable, and scalable code aligned with development best practices.
- Integrate RESTful APIs, manage networking layers, and implement secure data handling solutions.
- Utilize GitLab for source control, code reviews, branching strategies, merge requests, and CI/CD pipeline management.
- Optimize application performance, responsiveness, memory utilization, and battery efficiency.
- Implement unit tests and UI tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
- Troubleshoot production issues, debug complex technical problems, and provide timely resolutions.
- Ensure adherence to Apple Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and platform standards.
- Stay current with emerging iOS technologies, frameworks, and development trends.
- Mentor junior developers through code reviews, technical guidance, and best practice sharing.
- Support project delivery throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and post-release support.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide technical recommendations.
Your Skills:
- 4+ years of iOS development experience (or 6+ years with consulting experience).
- Strong expertise in Swift and SwiftUI for native iOS application development.
- Solid understanding of iOS architecture patterns including MVVM, VIPER, and Clean Architecture.
- Experience with GitLab, version control, code reviews, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in REST API integration, JSON parsing, and networking frameworks.
- Experience with XCTest, Unit Testing, and UI Testing.
- Strong knowledge of iOS application lifecycle, memory management, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with Apple Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) and mobile UX best practices.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Good understanding of Combine, Async/Await, and data persistence frameworks such as CoreData.
- Knowledge of mobile security best practices and DevOps concepts.
- Experience with App Store deployment and maintenance is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
