IPS Employment Specialist (Community Based) – Lincolnshire Expansion Role
Ay Shaw Trust are excited to announce our ambition to expand our Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services into Lincolnshire, following our success in other areas across the UK. This marks a pivotal stage in our growth and presents a fantastic opportunity for passionate, dynamic individuals to join our new team in developing and embedding impactful employment support services within the local community.
In its early stages (currently at bid development), this role will offer ground-floor involvement in shaping services and working closely with employers, participants, and communities in Hull (transitioning to Lincolnshire upon contract award).
About the Role: Helping People Access Sustainable Work
Working at Shaw Trust means playing a crucial role in removing barriers to employment for individuals facing mental health challenges or health-related obstacles. Our mission is to help everyone access meaningful, sustainable work—aligned with their skills, interests, and goals.
Current vacancies include three community-specific variants (you must specify which via the introduction below):
- (1) Lincolnshire
- (2) North Lincolnshire
- (3) North East Lincolnshire
Responsibilities: An Employer-Focused, Community Role
You will deliver the IPS model with full training provided, delivering the following core components:
- Participant Support: Work directly with individuals, assessing vocational profiles, creating tailored action plans, supporting job searches, facilitating placements, and providing on-going in-work support.
- Employer Engagement: Build strong working relationships with local businesses to create opportunities that match participants’ capabilities.
- Target driven outcomes: Embed the IPS model, achieving contractual targets for job starts, placements, and retention.

Key requirements: ✔ Predominantly peripatetic work (community-based, face-to-face engagement) ✔ Some travel necessary; personal transport may be a Condition (dependent on geographic delivery zone).

Essential
• Familiarity with IPS principles or willingness to undergo full training (in provided). • Experience delivering one-to-one guidance, coaching, or personalised support to help people achieve employment-related goals. • Experience managing a caseload with clear prioritisation and target-setting (meeting KPIs). • Experience working with individuals to progress towards vocational or employment outcomes. • Strong communicator, with proven relationship-building skills across multiple stakeholders (employers, professionals, communities).
Location & Contract Terms
- No remote work—role is community-centric and based on specific geography.
