We’re searching for an IRB Program Analyst—join our team and contribute to the ethical conduct of human subjects research!
About This Role
Temple University’s IRB Program Analyst I plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal regulations governing human subjects research. You’ll collaborate with researchers, research administrators, and affiliated offices to help Principal Investigators (PIs) navigate approval processes while maintaining ongoing compliance throughout studies.
This is a hybrid position, allowing flexibility between campus and remote work.
Salary Range
$53,000 to $65,000 annually (Salary may vary based on responsibilities, department budget, funding source, and other hiring factors.)

What You’ll Do
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Evaluate research protocols by reviewing IRB submissions, continuing reviews, and amendments.
- Support PIs in drafting and submitting compliant IRB protocols and informed consent documents.
- Identify compliance issues and collaborate with PIs to streamline the review process before IRB committee meetings.
- Develop training materials to guide researchers on IRB submissions, regulations, and ethical standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state regulations, policies, and ethical guidelines for human subjects research.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of IRB experience in research/clinical compliance, or comparable regulatory work.
- Equivalent experience may include drafting/submitting IRB protocols (e.g., as a study coordinator or graduate student).
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Strong understanding of federal regulations, ethical issues, and institutional policies governing human subjects research.
- Technical proficiency: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) + remote working (cloud/remote environments and video conference tools).
- Excellent communication & collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and with diverse stakeholders.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management to meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented and committed to regulatory compliance.

Preferred Skills & Abilities:
- Master’s degree in human subjects research or related field.
- Experience in biomedical research models or regulations.
