What You Will Get To Do:

Lead and manage a team of IBM i (iSeries/IBMi) system administrators Oversee operating system upgrades, patching activities, and application of Program Temporary Fixes (PTFs) and cumulative packages Monitor system performance including CPU utilization, memory consumption, and disk activity; analyze logs and optimize resource allocation Manage backup operations (nightly, weekly, quarterly) using BRMS or similar tools and lead disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution Administer user profiles, security settings, authority structures, and enforce system access controls and security policies Diagnose and resolve system, hardware, and software issues, coordinating with vendors or support partners as needed Configure and maintain LPARs, network settings (TCP/IP), and system devices, supporting infrastructure planning and capacity management

What You Will Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent experience 5–10 years of IBM i (iSeries/IBMi) system administration experience, including OS upgrades, PTF management, and security administration 2+ years of leadership or team management experience preferred Strong understanding of IBM Power Systems architecture and core IBM i technologies Experience with BRMS or equivalent backup and recovery solutions Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and execution Experience managing LPAR environments and TCP/IP configuration Proficiency in IBM i OS, PTF management, BRMS, journaling, and storage concepts Strong command of system performance tuning and resource optimization Solid understanding of security principles including user authorities, object security, and system auditing Knowledge of IBM Navigator for i and other system management tools Ability to interpret system logs, dumps, and performance reports Familiarity with automation or scripting on IBM i (CL, SQL, RPG knowledge a plus) Proven ability to lead and develop technical teams Strong organizational and prioritization skills Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and drive results Vendor and stakeholder management experience
