IT Applications Analyst (£40,000 – £50,000)

Salary & Grading

Leonardo UK operates a grade-based salary framework with broad bands. The Salary Range (£40,000 – £50,000) reflects the approved grade band for this role, with additional hiring flexibility within internal equity controls. Market-based exceptions are managed through governance oversight.


Your Impact

The IT Applications Analyst serves as a critical bridge between IT and business operations, ensuring smooth support, incident resolution, and continuous improvement of applications.

As the key stakeholder interface, you will:

  • Triage and manage application-related incidents/requests, coordinating between service desk, business stakeholders, and technical teams
  • Monitor system performance, service levels, and reporting, ensuring reliability and efficiency
  • Support project delivery through user acceptance testing, early-life solution implementation, and schedule planning
  • Optimise business processes via technology, streamline documentation, and foster clear communication
  • Operate autonomously to deliver customer-focused application support, with accountability for timely resolutions

Your responsibilities include:

  • IT Service Desk dispatcher – First point of escalation for application-related queries
  • Problem ticket management – Ownership of incident resolution workflows
  • Work request triage & organisation – Prioritise and relay caseloads correctly
  • Procurement administration – Maintenance of purchase orders and invoicing
  • Team reporting – Compile KPI metrics and operational dashboards
  • Business applications – Align complexities with Solutions Analysts for root-cause resolution
  • Migration projects – Flexible attendance to support implementation when needed

Strategic contributions:

Key Responsibilities

  • Problem triage & deep dive – Convert issues into closed, documented outcomes
  • Service desk leadership – Guide users and delegates performentially
  • Technical liaison – Act as intermediary between business systems and IT teams
  • Project escalation – Contribute to delivery timelines and stakeholder sign-off
  • Documentation champion – Maintain accurate logs for audits, compliance, and future reference

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in incident/problem management (IT service desk or technical support roles)
  • Familiarity with service-level reporting – Experience in SLAs, metrics, or performance tracking
  • Proactive mindset – Initiate solutions before issues escalate
  • Analytical skills – Break down business requirements into actionable tasks
  • Prioritisation expertise – Balance multiple moving deadlines and stakeholder expectations
  • Collaborative approach – Bridge gaps between technical teams and end-users
