About The Role

The IT Application Support role at BAE Critical Skills offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team responsible for maintaining and enhancing critical business applications within the HR portfolio. This position involves providing end-to-end support for enterprise applications, ensuring their optimal performance, security, and availability. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including vendors, stakeholders, and technical staff, to troubleshoot issues, implement updates, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires a flexible approach, including participation in a support rota covering multiple time zones, and may involve working outside of standard hours to ensure seamless service delivery. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and relevant experience, including:

  • Proven experience in enterprise application support and administration, particularly with platforms such as Active Directory, ServiceNow, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of IT frameworks like ITIL and industry certifications such as CompTIA.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and protocols, including ISO27001, Cyber Essentials, or Cyber Essentials+.
  • Experience working with provisioning partners and supporting integrated service delivery.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, release management, and product lifecycle management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Managing end-to-end support for HR portfolio applications, including troubleshooting, incident resolution, and user support.
  • Engaging with vendors and stakeholders to resolve operational issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintaining and enhancing cybersecurity posture through regular assurance and governance reviews.
  • Participating in major incident management, leading efforts to restore services and identify root causes.
  • Supporting deployment systems, including ServiceNow, by implementing updates, hotfixes, and configuration changes across multiple platforms.
  • Collaborating with administrators, developers, and product owners to align technology solutions with business needs and strategic objectives.
  • Creating comprehensive documentation for service operations procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and SLA adherence.
  • Providing support outside of normal working hours as part of a support rota to ensure continuous service availability.
