About the Role

Get hands-on with the software powering a major supply chain business! As an Application Support Analyst on £43,000 pa, you’ll join a skilled team of support analysts, developers, and QA specialists, helping to maintain and improve in-house systems.

Based in Sheffield, your role involves Azure-hosted warehouse and transport software, using .NET, T-SQL, and ServiceNow/Jira to troubleshoot defects, either independently or by escalating to the development team. Your long-term mission: continuously reduce system bugs/defects.

Daily tasks include:

  • Solving complex, varied issues
  • Supporting colleagues across multiple sites
  • Working in agile teams, attending stand-ups

Key Responsibilities

  • Support & Enhance In-House Software Ensure adherence to existing standards while improving processes.

  • Data & Transactional Systems Identify, diagnose, and fix defects in relational databases & transactional systems.

  • Agile Team Collaboration Operate autonomously and within small teams to maintain software quality across projects.

  • Stand-Up Meetings Share progress, upcoming tasks, and blockers with the team.

  • Strategic Improvement Contribute to long-term defect reduction in company systems.


Requirements

Essential

  • Strong experience in C#/.NET, ASP.NET, and object-oriented programming
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server & T-SQL
  • Proven track record in data-handling & transactional systems

Nice-to-Have

  • Exposure to Compact Framework 3.5, WinForms, Web Services, or ADO.NET
  • Front-end expertise: jQuery/JavaScript, Knockout.js/TypeScript
  • Agile experience (SCRUM) & source control (TFS, GIT, SVN)
  • Degree in Computing or related field, or Microsoft Certification (not mandatory)
