About The Role
The IT Application Support role at BAE Critical Skills offers an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about enterprise application management and support within a dynamic environment. In this position, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining platforms that enable the HR portfolio and other business-critical applications. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of IT services that underpin the organization’s operations. This role involves engaging with vendors, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, implement updates, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role operates on a rota system supporting multiple time zones, including occasional outside normal working hours, to ensure seamless service delivery across the organization.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and experience in enterprise application support. Essential qualifications include proven experience in managing and supporting enterprise applications such as Active Directory, ServiceNow, or similar platforms. Candidates should have familiarity with IT frameworks like ITIL and CompTIA, demonstrating an understanding of best practices in IT service management. Knowledge of cybersecurity standards, including ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials, is highly desirable. Additionally, experience working with provisioning partners and supporting Agile/Release methodologies will be advantageous. A strong foundation in problem-solving, stakeholder communication, and process documentation is vital for success in this role.

Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end support for HR Portfolio applications, including incident resolution, troubleshooting, and liaising with vendors and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain and enhance the cybersecurity posture through regular assurance and governance reviews, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and standards.
- Lead efforts during major incidents, coordinating service restoration activities and conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Support deployment systems such as ServiceNow, managing updates, hotfixes, and configuration across multiple platforms to ensure system stability and performance.
- Collaborate with administrators, developers, and product owners to align technology strategies with business needs, delivering improved end-user functionality.
- Create, review, and maintain detailed documentation of Service Operations procedures to ensure consistent service delivery and achievement of SLA targets.
- Participate in a support rota covering multiple time zones, providing flexible support outside of standard working hours as needed to maintain service continuity.
