As the UK's largest independent drainage and wastewater specialist, Lanes Group is committed to improving today for a better tomorrow. As we continue to grow and transform our business, we're looking for a talented Business Analyst to join our expanding IT team.

About The Role

Location: Leeds / Manchester region, hybrid arrangement with travel required

Department: IT

Reporting to: Head of Enterprise Change

This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical and solutions-focused professional who enjoys working with stakeholders across a business, improving processes, and delivering technology-enabled change. You'll play a key role in identifying business needs, analysing requirements, and helping deliver innovative solutions that drive efficiency and support our strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Engaging with stakeholders to gather, analyse and document business requirements.
  • Analysing data and business processes to identify trends, gaps and opportunities.
  • Creating and maintaining business process maps and future-state solutions.
  • Working with IT teams to design and implement systems and process improvements.
  • Supporting business transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Producing clear recommendations and communicating project updates to stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with reporting and MI teams to develop meaningful business insights.
  • Supporting testing, validation and successful implementation of new systems and processes.
  • Delivering user training, workshops and supporting documentation.
  • Keeping up to date with emerging technologies and best practice to help drive innovation across the business.

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and IT systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience in process mapping and business modelling.
  • The ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple, practical solutions.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Business Analysis or Project Management qualification.
  • Experience supporting transformation, change, or systems implementation projects.
