About the Role

Renishaw are undertaking multiple complex digital transformations and we are seeking an IT Business Analyst. In this role, you will act as a key interface between business stakeholders and IT delivery teams, translating business requirements into clear, testable functional and technical specifications. You will ensure that solutions are designed and delivered in line with enterprise architecture, security, data, and integration standards, while supporting reliable and scalable system operation.

You will work as part of a larger cross-functional team (including functional consultants, technical consultants, developers, and project managers) to deliver improvements that help the organisation deliver greater efficiency and value.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, analyse and define current and proposed future state business processes; apply gap analysis to identify actions required to implement the revised processes
  • Investigate and analyse business problems, opportunities and strategic objectives to identify and define change requirements.
  • Elicit, document, and manage functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring traceability from business need through to technical design and delivery.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, developers, and functional consultants to define end-to-end solution designs, including configurations, integrations, data flows, and reporting.
  • Support system lifecycle activities including impact assessment, release planning, regression testing, and post-implementation review.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, contributing ideas and feedback to optimise the use of enterprise platforms.
  • Translate business process models into system capabilities, configurations, and integration requirements.
  • Facilitate requirements, design, and solution walkthrough workshops with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate in a fast-paced, team-focused setting, adapting to changing priorities and delivering solutions that align with organisational goals.
  • Operate effectively within a hybrid work model, balancing remote collaboration with in-person engagement when required.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience applying business analysis techniques within a commercial or organisational environment.
  • Experience producing functional design documents (FDDs), solution specifications, and supporting test scenarios.
  • Recognised Business Analysis qualifications (e.g. IIBA CCBA/CBAP, BCS Diploma in Business Analysis) are a plus and show a solid foundation in BA best practices and techniques.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum project methodologies is preferred; experience using Azure DevOps or Jira for managing requirements and user stories is beneficial.
  • Understanding of enterprise level integration patterns, data entities, and environment management (e.g. Dev/Test/Prod).
  • Awareness of security, access control, and data protection considerations in enterprise systems.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) or Power BI is advantageous, especially where solutions are integrated for reporting and data analysis.
  • Experience delivering enterprise systems within engineering or manufacturing environments.
  • Proven ability to support user adoption and change management initiatives, including training.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
