Senior IT Business Partner

The Job
You’ll bridge the gap between strategy and execution, reporting to the Head of IT while playing a hands-on role that balances enterprise leadership with practical, on-site problem-solving. This is a standalone position requiring someone equally comfortable:
- Presenting a technology strategy to leadership
- Delivering day-to-day IT support, from conferencing tech pre-meetings to resolving usability issues
Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Planning
- Partner with senior leaders and department heads to co-design technology solutions that directly enable business goals.
- Assist the Head of IT in crafting and maintaining a multi-year IT roadmap, presenting it regularly to stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities where technology can improve efficiency, performance and competitive advantage.
- Contribute to annual IT budgeting and business case development for technology investment.
SaaS & Software Portfolio Management
- Own and lead the full lifecycle of Flo’s SaaS portfolio — from evaluation and procurement to renewal, rationalisation and retirement.
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts and software licensing to maximise value and usage transparency.
- Maintain a clear inventory of all software assets: their owners, costs and renewal deadlines.
- Lead (or support) new platform selection and implementation, collaborating with stakeholders and offshore teams.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the off-site technology advisor, bridging the gap between business needs and IT solutions.
- Translate business demands into clear, actionable instructions for the offshore support team.
- Be the primary escalation point when offshore assistance falls short or misses the mark.
- Develop non-technical communications (e.g., reporting, updates) that remain accessible and actionable.
IT Governance & Risk
- Ensure compliance with data protection, security and licensing standards.
- Mitigate technology-related risks and integrate findings into broader business continuity and risk management.
- Work with the IT team to define and maintain appropriate IT policies and standards.
On-Site Hands-On Support (when needed)
- Deliver first-line IT support, troubleshooting issues like:
- AV, conference room equipment pre-meetings
- Equipment onboarding for new hires
- Non-remote service incidents
- Represent Flo’s IT capability professionally, ensuring issues are swiftly and effectively resolved.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Project history in an IT Business Partner, IT Manager or senior generalist role, with direct experience engaging senior stakeholders.
- Expertise in SaaS platforms, including software licensing and contract management.
- Ability to develop (or contribute to) technology roadmaps/strategies, clearly communicating them to non-technical audiences.
- Prove a track record of translating business requirements into IT solutions, collaborating with internal/external teams.
- Comfortable working hands-on in a fast-growing, tech-driven environment, troubleshooting as necessary.
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills to manage varied workloads independently.

Desirable
- Experience managing or coordinating outsourced/offshore IT support functions.
- Knowledge of IT governance frameworks (e.g., ITIL).
- Background in software procurement and vendor negotiation.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and obligations, including UK GDPR.
