Our IT Client User Experience Engineer is part of the Platform Reliability Team, who will be accountable for ensuring that all end user devices across the organisation are safe, secure, compliant, performant, and consistently delivering an excellent colleague experience. You will ensure that every client device—laptop, desktop, mobile, or virtual endpoint—runs optimally with all relevant applications deployed, updated, and monitored through automated, modern management tooling. You will play a key role in endpoint security, device compliance, software lifecycle management, performance optimisation, and user experience telemetry, ensuring colleagues can work efficiently and securely across all locations.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Ensure all client devices meet corporate security baselines, including encryption, secure boot, antivirus/EDR, MFA, conditional access, and OS level hardening.
  • Monitor endpoint compliance using tooling such as Intune, Defender, Rapid7, SCCM or equivalent.
  • Partner with the Cyber Security team to identify, triage, and resolve endpoint vulnerabilities quickly and work closely with IT Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, Service Desk, and Application teams to ensure seamless device operation.
  • Maintain a centralised catalogue of approved applications with version control and documentation.
  • Support the full lifecycle of devices: by working in partnership with members of the IT Hardware Asset Management team for the procurement, build, deployment, ongoing management, retirement and secure disposal of all client devices.
  • Ensure devices remain fully patched (OS, drivers, firmware, apps) in accordance with corporate patching policies.
  • Own the end-user experience across all device types, using analytics to identify pain points and opportunities.
  • Support delivery of corporate initiatives (e.g. Windows feature upgrades, security uplift programmes, hardware refresh cycles).

What You’ll Have

  • Strong knowledge of Windows 11, macOS, iOS/Android, and endpoint management tooling.
  • Experience with modern management platforms (e.g., Microsoft Intune, SCCM, Autopilot, MDM).
  • Proven experience in software packaging, scripting, application deployment.
  • Good understanding of endpoint security principles (AV/EDR, CIS baselines, encryption, patching).
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex endpoint issues across OS, application, network, and hardware layers.
  • Strong documentation, attention to detail, and process discipline.
