Support the IT Lead

Support the IT Lead by providing first-line remote IT support to CHC volunteers, helping them resolve technical issues and make effective use of organisational systems and platforms.

What difference will you make?

The IT Customer Support Specialist can help CHCs run more smoothly by providing first-line remote support for volunteers using Microsoft 365 tools.

Everyday IT Fixes

  • Handling issues like email setup, Teams access, or virtual meetings on devices including Apple, Android, PC, and Mac keeps volunteers working without long delays.
  • This type of support helps nonprofits avoid small problems turning into bigger ones.

Better Onboarding

  • Managing Microsoft 365 onboarding and offboarding makes it easier to bring on new volunteers quickly.

Practical Training

  • Creating guides, videos, and sessions on Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint helps users get comfortable with the tools.
  • This reduces repeat queries over time.

Team Support

What are we looking for?

Experience / Skills

  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
  • Experience working as first line IT support
  • Proven communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Articulate written, visual and verbal communications, excellent copy accuracy; fluency in English is essential

What will you be doing?

As IT Customer Support Specialist your key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

  • Onboarding and offboarding users to Microsoft 365
  • Supporting users to resolve functional issues (i.e. setting email footers, setting up/running/recording virtual meetings)
  • Supporting users to effectively utilise Microsoft 365 on various different platforms, including Apple, Android, PC and Mac
  • Supporting users to resolve technical issues (eg problems installing email / Teams, access problems)
  • Designing, arranging and delivering IT training (including online events, how to / user guides and videos)
  • Supporting users with queries in relation to Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Supporting the IT Lead with projects as required/desired
  • Attending internal meetings as required
