IT Delivery Director (Software/ERP)
Role Summary
Investigo are delighted to have been engaged as the exclusive recruitment partner for a global leader in the maritime industry, to fill a newly created senior IT Delivery Director role.
Key Responsibilities
The IT Delivery Director will take full accountability for IT programme delivery, technology products, and organisational transformation initiatives. Responsibilities include:
- Defining technology & software delivery strategy, operating model, governance framework, and value-driven approach, aligned with IT and broader business needs
- Leading three key IT portfolios, ensuring consistent execution in a global, cross-functional, and complex landscape
- Transforming the current IT delivery landscape, making strategic changes in areas such as the company’s flagship ERP re-platforming program
- Building and reinforcing methodologies for effective delivery oversight, financial control, and Agile/DevOps integration
Key Duties & Accountabilities
The role will drive rapid progress in the following areas:
- Transformation of Development Cycles: Implementing more efficient development cycles with frequent releases
- AI-First Delivery & Transformation:
- Embedding AI-first development practices, including proofs of concept and rapid prototyping within current Agile frameworks
- Developing transformation strategies for offshore development partners
- Deliverable Oversight & Governance:
- Aligning portfolio/product backlogs with business priorities and value realisation
- Providing strategic oversight across the IT delivery team
- Establishing transversal controls for scope, timelines, cost, quality, and risk across all deliveries
- Balancing strict governance requirements with agile adaptability (e.g., lean & controlled rapid development)
- Agile Delivery & Decision Making:
- Strengthening Agile and product-based delivery practices across the organisation
- Enforcing a robust framework for high-quality delivery artefacts, reporting, and executive decision-making
- Escalations & Risk Mitigation:
- Addressing and resolving critical delivery risks, issues, and constraints beyond individual team management

Experience & Requirements
The IT Delivery Director should demonstrate experience in:
- Senior IT Leadership: Extensive track record in large-scale IT transformation programmes, particularly in software/platforms for multinational enterprises
- Team & Multi-Disciplinary Governance: Competency in managing development, programme delivery, QA, engineering, and release management teams
- Methodologies & Frameworks:
- Deep expertise in programme & portfolio management (scoped frameworks, resource allocation)
- Experience with Agile, HybridDelivery, and DevOps models
- Proficiency in scientific governance, risk management, and cost control
- Programme Transformation:
- Global & multi-vendor IT leadership capabilities
- Ability to optimise offshore partner relationships
- Experience designing and executing enterprise-wide value realizations
- Financial & Strategic Planning:
- Strong problem-solving skills, capable of tackling strategic financial forecasting, budgeting, risk assessment, and returns
- Dept knowledge of software life-cycle costing and cost-benefit alignment

Location:
Glasgow (Flexible work policy: 3 days onsite (alternating Mon & Tue) + 2 days remotely)
Compensation:
- Total Remuneration: £150,000 base + exec benefits
