đź‘€ IT Director

📍 Wokingham - Hybrid 3 Days a week

âť— Join an org in high growth phase with strong backing

The Role

Joining a fast-growing business, as an IT Director here you will take ownership of the reliability, security, and performance of their internal technology estate. This is a hands-on technical leadership role rather than a purely strategic one. You will be the person who keeps internal systems running smoothly, integrated, and secure, while managing the vendors and partners who support them.

Whilst this role does not own the functional design of any individual business platform, it will own the technical plumbing behind it: APIs, data flows, uptime, access, and security across the wider systems estate.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Owning the technical health of internal business systems (CRM, finance, HR, telephony, data warehouse, and more), ensuring they operate reliably and securely
  • Maintaining the integrations connecting these systems, resolving issues quickly when data flows break
  • Overseeing the stability, performance, and security of the wider IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud services, and endpoints
  • Owning IT security posture, covering access controls, patching, endpoint protection, and monitoring
  • Building and maintaining resilience and disaster recovery plans, including regular testing and backup integrity
  • Managing relationships with external technology vendors and managed service providers, owning SLAs, and contract performance
  • Running the internal helpdesk function and owning the lifecycle of technical equipment
  • Acting as the technical subject matter resource on cross-functional projects, translating business requirements into technical implementation plans

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

About You

We are looking for someone who has genuinely operated as a hands-on technical leader, not purely a manager. You will likely have:

  • Seven or more years in IT operations or infrastructure roles, including two to three years in a leadership or senior technical capacity
  • Experience managing infrastructure, security, and integrations across multiple internal business systems
  • A track record of managing external vendors, MSPs, or technology partners and holding them to account against SLAs
  • Experience building or maintaining disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Comfort operating in a smaller company where the role is genuinely hands-on rather than purely managerial

On the technical side, you should bring:

  • Strong working knowledge of API integrations and middleware or iPaaS concepts
  • A solid understanding of network, server, and cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Strong IT security fundamentals, including identity and access management, endpoint security, and patch management
  • Familiarity with common SaaS business systems and how they typically integrate with one another
  • Experience with helpdesk or service management tooling and ticketing systems

You will be a clear communicator, comfortable explaining technical risk to a non-technical leadership team, and pragmatic in how you balance risk management against the pace of a smaller business.

Above all, we are looking for someone who is happy to be the single point of accountability for IT without a large team beneath them.

The Company

This is an established, growing business that relies on a connected set of internal systems to operate day to day. They are looking for someone to take full ownership of the technology that keeps the business running, working closely with the CEO and wider leadership team.

Start Date and Logistics

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Wokingham, with three days per week onsite and two days working from home. Start date is flexible depending on notice period.

What Should You Do Next
