IT Engineer
Job Description – IT Engineer

In support of our continued UK growth, we are seeking a skilled network & systems engineer to design, implement, and maintain enterprise network and system infrastructures. The ideal candidate combines strong networking expertise with scripting capabilities, solid knowledge of Windows and Linux environments, and hands-on experience in Microsoft cloud and workplace technologies.
About the Role
You'll play a key role in maintaining and evolving the business's network and systems infrastructure, ensuring our LAN, cloud, and endpoint environments run securely and efficiently. This is a great opportunity for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and confident working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Design, implement, and support LAN infrastructure and network services
- Manage and troubleshoot routing protocols and traffic optimisation
- Automate operational tasks using scripting and automation tools
- Administer and maintain Windows and Linux systems
- Support and optimise the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and endpoint management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure and automation projects
- Ensure system performance, security, and reliability across environments
- Document configurations, processes, and best practices

Job Requirements
We hire result-oriented, smart, and high-energy individuals who bring a can-do attitude and a willingness to go the extra mile.
The ideal candidate should have experience with:
Networking / LAN Infrastructure
- Strong understanding of LAN switching technologies
- Solid experience with IP routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
- Knowledge of QoS (Quality of Service) and DSCP tagging
Scripting
- Hands-on experience with PowerShell, Python, Bash
Systems
- Strong knowledge of:
- Windows environments (server & client)
- Linux systems administration
- Microsoft Ecosystem
- Proven experience with:
- Microsoft 365 (O365)
- Intune (Endpoint Management)
- Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Automation & DevOps
Desirable Skills
- Exposure to at least one:
- Power Apps
- Power Automate
- Ansible
- Terraform
- Git (version control)

Organisation Structure
The IT Engineer reports to the Group IT Architect.
Job Specifics
- Location: This role is based at our Basingstoke office, with flexibility for occasional homeworking (by agreement).
- Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm
