About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior IT Engineer & Cloud Administrator to join our client's dynamic IT team. This role is based in St Albans with a hybrid working model, offering a competitive salary of 42,550 along with a comprehensive benefits package. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing, supporting, and enhancing the company's IT infrastructure, which spans on-premises and cloud environments. Working closely with the Head of IT Services, you will be responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and efficiency of the organization’s technology landscape. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from infrastructure upgrades to cloud migrations, providing broad technical exposure and significant professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and practical experience, including:
- Proven experience providing 1st to 3rd Line support within a structured IT environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, and Hyper-V environments.
- Good understanding of core networking technologies such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and related protocols.
- Experience supporting Windows 11, enterprise desktop hardware, and general IT infrastructure.
- Ability to manage infrastructure upgrades, system improvements, and perform ongoing operational support.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent are advantageous.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Providing comprehensive support across Microsoft 365 suite, Azure cloud services, Windows Server, and enterprise infrastructure.
- Maintaining and administering Active Directory, Entra ID, and Hyper-V environments to ensure security and operational efficiency.
- Supporting and troubleshooting end-user issues related to desktop hardware, Windows 11, and enterprise applications.
- Managing and executing infrastructure upgrades, system patches, and security enhancements to maintain a resilient IT environment.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to implement new systems, optimize existing infrastructure, and support strategic IT initiatives.
- Monitoring system performance, conducting regular backups, and ensuring disaster recovery plans are in place.
- Documenting processes, maintaining accurate records, and adhering to IT policies and compliance standards.
- Assisting in the development and delivery of user training and support materials to enhance user adoption and proficiency.
