The role

The IT Engineer role sits within our IT Operations team and plays an important part in helping the business do its best work. This is a role where your impact will be visible. Whether you're helping a new starter get set up, resolving issues that keep projects moving, or supporting the introduction of new technologies, your work will directly influence the experience of employees across Opencast.

The role also provides the opportunity to develop your technical skills within a collaborative team environment, gaining experience across technologies including macOS, Microsoft 365, Intune and a range of business-critical platforms.

For someone who enjoys solving problems, helping others and learning new technology, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution while continuing to grow your own career.

This role involves on-site working. Applicants should be able to travel, as part of their daily commute, to our HQ in Newcastle upon Tyne. Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
