Job Summary

Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, this is a hands-on role focusing on delivering key technical projects. You’ll be part of our Engineer team tasked with implementing, delivering, and maintaining systems, platforms, and services that are forward-thinking, scalable, secure, resilient, and aligned with business goals.

This role is for a fixed term of 12-18 months, focusing on project work for system upgrades, migrating group companies to scaled 365 tenants, and remediation of Defender advisories.

Responsibilities

  • Support: Provide the support team with the necessary documentation to support systems delivered by the Engineer Team. Provide end-user support for complex issues falling outside of documented scenarios.
  • Implementation: Take responsibility for the technical design and implementation in scope IT systems.
  • Service Delivery: Ensure the required systems/services are delivered to the business securely and within the OLA and SLA requirements set by the Head of IT and Cyber Security.
  • Planning: Be able to work autonomously to agreed scopes and deadlines.
  • Security: Foster a culture of security and be an advocate for Zero Trust. Ensure all systems are created secure and continue to be so.
  • Governance and Compliance: Where required, ensure all systems adhere to standards such as ISO27001 and design/support the IT initiatives to improve systems, data quality, and efficiency.
  • Continual Improvement: Act as a champion for change and improvement. Provide technical expertise to the Head of IT and Cyber Security to ensure systems remain cutting-edge.

Required Skills or Training

  • Experience of M365 tenant-to-tenant migrations.
  • Comfortable engaging and challenging stakeholders at a high level.
  • Proven ability to deliver technical projects on time.
  • The ability to manage and prioritize your workload.
  • Detail-focused with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Microsoft Server 2016
    • Active Directory / Group Policy
    • File Servers
    • Windows 10/11
    • Virtualization Technologies such as Hyper-V
    • M365
    • Exchange
    • SharePoint
    • PowerApps
    • Microsoft Teams (including Teams Phones)
    • Entra ID
    • Intune (including Autopilot)
  • Networking
    • Physical design and setup of wired and wireless
    • DNS, DHCP, VLANs, WAN, and VPN
  • Security
    • MS Defender XDR or equivalent such as Heimdal, Sophos, etc.
    • Identity and Access control such as Entra ID and MFA/Passwordless technologies.
    • Conditional Access.
    • UEM/MDM such as Microsoft Intune.
  • End user hardware
    • Laptops/ Desktops
  • Awareness of surrounding technologies/systems is advantageous.
  • Ability to understand and articulate technology impacts to business outcomes is a must.
