About The Role

The Senior IT Engineer & Cloud Administrator role at Reboot Recruit Ltd is a pivotal position designed for a highly skilled professional with a comprehensive understanding of both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure. Based in St Albans with a hybrid working model, this role offers a unique opportunity to work within a globally recognized technology provider that specializes in high-performance server, storage, cloud, and infrastructure solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and developing the company's internal IT environment, ensuring seamless operation across multiple locations and user bases. This role involves a broad range of responsibilities, including infrastructure support, cloud administration, systems improvement, and strategic IT planning. Working closely with the Head of IT Services, the candidate will contribute to shaping the future technology landscape of the organization, supporting ongoing projects, and ensuring the stability and security of IT systems. The position provides exposure to the full IT lifecycle, from initial planning and deployment to ongoing administration and troubleshooting, offering an excellent platform for professional growth and technical development.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in IT infrastructure support and cloud administration, with proven experience in a similar role. Essential qualifications include a strong background in Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive. Candidates should have hands-on experience managing Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, and Hyper-V environments. A good understanding of networking fundamentals such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP protocols, and core Microsoft infrastructure technologies is required. Experience supporting Windows 11 and enterprise desktop hardware is also desirable. The candidate should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and strong communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders at various levels. Industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified, or equivalent are highly advantageous. A proactive attitude towards continuous learning and staying updated with the latest technological advancements is essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

The Senior IT Engineer & Cloud Administrator will undertake a diverse set of responsibilities aimed at maintaining and enhancing the company's IT infrastructure. Key duties include:

  • Providing 1st to 3rd line support to end-users and internal teams
  • Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
  • Ensuring optimal performance of enterprise systems
  • Managing and supporting Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive
  • Administering and optimizing Microsoft Azure environments
  • Overseeing Windows Server and Hyper-V infrastructure
  • Implementing security measures to safeguard company data
  • Managing infrastructure upgrades and deploying new systems
  • Implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
  • Supporting network configurations, including DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP
  • Participating in strategic IT projects
  • Contributing to disaster recovery planning
  • Supporting the organization’s digital transformation initiatives
