About The Role

The Senior IT Engineer & Cloud Administrator role at Reboot Recruit Ltd offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of technological innovation within a globally recognized organization. This position is ideal for an experienced IT professional who is passionate about infrastructure, cloud computing, and system administration. Working primarily in a hybrid environment based in St Albans, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and enhancing the company's internal IT systems, ensuring seamless operation across multiple locations and user groups. The role involves a mix of hands-on technical support, strategic planning, and project management, providing comprehensive exposure to both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure. Collaborating closely with the Head of IT Services, the incumbent will play a vital role in driving continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining system security, and implementing new technologies to support the company's growth and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in IT infrastructure and cloud administration, with relevant certifications and practical experience. Essential qualifications include proven expertise in supporting Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, and enterprise networking. A solid understanding of Active Directory, Entra ID, Hyper-V, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP protocols, and core Microsoft technologies is required. Candidates should have experience managing Windows desktop environments, including Windows 11, and supporting enterprise hardware. Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, or similar credentials are highly desirable. Excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

The Senior IT Engineer & Cloud Administrator will be responsible for a broad range of tasks aimed at maintaining, supporting, and improving the company's IT infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1st to 3rd line support to end-users and internal teams, resolving technical issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Administering and supporting Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Managing and maintaining Azure cloud environments, including resource provisioning, monitoring, and cost optimization.
  • Supporting on-premises infrastructure such as Windows Server, Hyper-V, Active Directory, and enterprise networking components.
  • Implementing system upgrades, patches, and security enhancements to ensure compliance and resilience.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to plan and execute IT projects, including infrastructure migrations, system integrations, and new technology deployments.
  • Monitoring system health, performing routine maintenance, and troubleshooting issues proactively to minimize downtime.
  • Documenting processes, policies, and configurations to support knowledge sharing and future planning.
  • Contributing to the development of IT strategies aligned with organizational goals and technological advancements.
